A brush fringe is a short, dense trim sewn into the seam around the cushion. We choose a contrasting colour, such as black against a pale fabric, so the edge stands out and the shape of the cushion is easy to see.
What is the difference between fringed and piped cushions?
The difference is the edge: a fringe gives a soft, textured border, while piping gives a narrow, crisp one. Fringe feels relaxed and tactile. Piping feels tailored and sharp. Many people mix both on one sofa, and our piped cushions come in the same designer fabrics, so they are easy to pair.
How do you style a cushion with a brush fringe?

Every cushion is made to order in our Blackburn studio and despatched within 10 working days. UK delivery by Royal Mail is £3.60, and we send worldwide for £17, delivered duty paid. Because each piece is made for you, we suggest ordering a fabric sample if you want to check a colour first.
