Cushion Size Guide: UK Sizes in Inches and Centimetres
The most popular cushion sizes for a sofa are 18x18 inches (45cm) and 20x20 inches (50cm). Larger sofas with deep seats suit 22 to 24 inches (55 to 60cm). A rectangle cushion of 12x20 inches (30x50cm) is a useful addition in front of square cushions, on either a sofa or a bed.

Cushion sizes are usually rounded when converted, so these centimetre sizes are the common equivalents rather than exact measurements.

What size cushion is best for a sofa?
For a standard two or three seater sofa, 18 or 20 inches is the safest choice. As a rough guide, pick larger cushions for deeper seats. Layering works well: use larger squares at the back, then a smaller or rectangle cushion in front.
What size cushion is best for a bed?
On a double or king size bed, 20 or 24 inch squares fill the width nicely behind or in front of your pillows. Finish with a bolster cushion or rectangle cushion in the centre.
What size inner do I need for my cushion cover?
Many people choose an inner about 5cm (2 inches) bigger than a shop bought cover, so that it looks plump. A 45cm cover would take a 50cm inner, for example. Our covers are different, because we make them to fit the matching size inner, snug and tight. For our 18 inch cover, choose an 18 inch inner.
